Prof. dr. Alfonso Mendoza has a PhD in Economics at the University of York, U.K. He also possesses a MSc. in Project Analysis, Finance, and Investments at the University of York, and a Master’s degree in Finance at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). He is member of the Mexican National Research System (SNI, level II). His research areas are international finance, project evaluation, public finances of local governments, and vulnerability of the financial system. He has obtained several research awards, such as first place at the 2017 ¨Premio Nacional de Investigación Impulso a las Finanzas Estatales (UNAM, Grupo Interacciones, PWC)¨. During 2013 and 2014 he was visiting professor at the University of Washington (Seattle, WA). He has been visiting researcher at the Research Departments of the Bank of England and the Turkish Central Bank. Currently he is the Director of the Economics Intelligence Research Center (CIIE-UPAEP).
